The first in a series of concerts bringing rising classical stars to the newly renovated Cultural Foundation Theatre. The Tchalik Quartet consists of four members of the same uniquely talented French-Russian family. The four siblings have performed together from an early age and their quartet is now recognised on the international stage. The group has performed at various festivals in France, Austria, Italy, Spain and Russia, with some concerts broadcast live on France Musique. The quartet won the Chamber Music Award 2016 at ISA (Vienna) and the 2017 Fondazione Monte dei Paschi award in Siena, as well as first prize at the International Mozart Competition (Salzburg) in February 2018.

For the Cultural Foundation performance, the quartet has chosen a programme of French and Eastern European compositions, including Saint-Saëns and Dvorak, with 19th century and contemporary music pieces. The siblings will also highlight artistic influences from the Arab and Indian worlds that shine through their fascinating music.
