Learn the art of basic Islamic pattern, an art form which complements Arabic calligraphy. This script is famous for writing the Holy Qur’an, mosques, and facades, and Islamic decoration was added to it in the spaces between the letters. It is also capable of all configurations, such as circular, oval, square, and rectangle. A workshop specializing in the art of gilding. In this workshop, participants will learn how to dissolve gold using water and Arabic glue. After that, the water is filtered and purified of the glue, after which it is ready for use and gilding. Instructor: Ali Mamdouh

The Diwani script was invented during the days of the Ottoman Empire and was used to write letters to the sultans due to the beauty and clarity of its letters.
