Cultural Foundation Art Residency 2023 Application

Applications are now closed.

Nationals and residents of the UAE are welcome to apply for the 6 months long residencies. Each year, a jury selects 10 artists.

Artists in residence are offered: 

• Dedicated studio space within Cultural Foundation
• 24 hours access to their studios
• Curatorial support
• Access to Cultural Foundation facilities
• Financial recourses
• Housing support (for artists residing outside of Abu Dhabi)

The dates of the Art Residency are:     

• 25 January 2023 – 20 July 2023
• 25 July 2023 – 20 January 2024

Applicants must state in which half of the year 2023 they want to start their residency.

Requirements for the application are:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or a similar academic degree in visual arts or a relevant cultural field
• Portfolio
• Artist CV including relevant exhibition history
• Contact email and phone number
• Five high resolution images of previous artworks
• Short biography (max. 100 words)
• Artist statement (max. 150 words)
• Personal photo
• Passport copy
• Copy of Unified Number (UAE nationals)
• Copy of Residency visa (Non-UAE nationals)
