Bait Al Khatt

Calligraphy workshops and classes

A new space within the Cultural Foundation dedicated to the intricate art of traditional Arabic calligraphy. Lead by artist and calligrapher, Mohammed Mandi, and open to residents and tourists alike, the ongoing programme of beginner, intermediate, and master classes will take both a theoretical and practical approach with a view towards enhancing the development of Arabic calligraphy within the UAE.

Mentorship Programme

Based on artist Fahrelnissa Zeid’s principles of education, Cultural Foundation will host a six month mentorship programme from April to September 2023. Aimed at nurturing emerging creatives, the programme will pair selected applicants with prominent artists and curators who will guide them in realising their creative vision.

Hekaya Programme at Abu Dhabi Children's Library

Hekaya is an initiative to support writers and artists in the field of children's books, launched by the Abu Dhabi Children's Library at Cultural Foundation. It aims to provide opportunities for creative writers and artists in the field of children's books, contribute to the dissemination of high-quality stories for children in Arabic, and offer opportunities for individuals to learn and acquire skills related to the world of children's stories through a variety of choices in the programme. This includes a writing competition, mentorship programme, and diverse workshops.

Performing Arts Production Programme

A unique opportunity for artists to produce a play or a dance piece, a music album, a site-specific performance or any other type of performative work. Selected works will receive production support and will be showcased during the seasonal programme of Cultural Foundation.
